Q. How many Members does the Choir have?
A. Mixed Choir of approximately 90 Members
 
Q. What sort of music does the Choir sing?
A. A constantly changing repertoire of Classical, sacred, modern, Scottish and folk songs
 
Q. Is there a joining fee?
A. No, but there is an annual subscription (Standard £78, Seniors £58, Full Time education £20)
 
Q. What is the Choir’s dress code?
A Ladies: Formal -Full length Kilts and Choir issue blouses. Informal - Black trousers or black full length skirts and Choir issue blouses.
 
Men: Formal – Dinner suit/black tie. Informal – Black Trousers and Choir issue shirt. ( Blouses and shirts are provided by the Choir at a subsidised cost)
 
Q. What public performances does the Choir attend?
A. Choir’s Annual Concert (Usher Hall), Christmas concerts, St Giles, Edinburgh Military Tattoo and small charity concerts
 
Q. Must you be able to read music?
A. Not essential as rehearsal tapes are available.
 
Q. Is there a vocal assessment?
A. Yes
 
Q. Is the vocal assessment held in private?
A. Yes, with the Conductor
 
Q. Where does the Choir meet?
A. At Lasswade High School (Click here for map )
 
Q. How often does the Choir meet?
A. Weekly on Tuesday evenings from 7.15pm to 9.30pm (September to May)
